Long stay in Agadir: a practical guide
Agadir is one of Morocco's mildest cities in winter, which makes it popular for stays of one to several months. The essentials: check how long your nationality can stay, rent by the month to cut costs, and pick an area where everything is within walking distance.
Things to do in Agadir
The top things to do in Agadir are the Agadir Oufella kasbah (reached by cable car from downtown), the beach and its promenade, the Marina, Souk El Had, Crocoparc and the Valley of the Birds; for day trips, Paradise Valley and the surf village of Taghazout. Here's the essentials for each, from our apartment in Hay Mohammadi.
Agadir in winter, month by month
Agadir stays mild in winter: around 19–22 °C in the afternoon from November to March, cool nights, a sea around 18 °C and only a few rainy days a month. It's one of the sunniest winter destinations close to Europe, ideal for a stay of a month or more.
Agadir to Taghazout
Taghazout, Morocco's best-known surf village, is about 20 km north of Agadir, a 20–30 minute drive along the coast road. Go by car, taxi or bus for a day of surfing, beach and ocean-view cafés, and come back to sleep in the city.
